Dr. Todd Engstrom
Dr. Todd Engstrom, a Board Certified orthodontist, has over 25 years clinical experience treating both children and adults. He earned his undergraduate and graduate dental degrees from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in only seven years as opposed to the normal eight years or more and then served for two years as a Naval Dental Officer. After military service he returned to Chapel Hill and completed a specialty orthodontic residency with the UNC School of Dentistry Department of Orthodontics which was at that time the number one ranked Orthodontic program in the country. Dr. Engstrom remains abreast of the latest orthodontic technology and procedures and is an active member of numerous professional organizations such as the American Association of Orthodontics and the American Dental Association, to name a few. He is also a past president of the Raleigh-Wake County Dental Association and the University of North Carolina Orthodontic Alumni Association. In addition, he has successfully completed the educational and clinical requirements to earn the lifetime title “Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics”. Only about one in ten active orthodontists has achieved this level of recognition. Certification as a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics signifies a unique achievement and is a significant step beyond the two to three years of advanced education required for a dentist to become a specialist in orthodontics. Dr. Engstrom is committed to excellence in orthodontics and continues to provide all of his patients with the most comprehensive treatment available in a relaxed yet fun and exciting setting.
